Can I run GTA 5 with SSD
A 120GB SSD would definitely be enough…
if all you ever installed on it was Windows, GTA 5, and a couple of other programs.
It is absolutely not a future-proof size.
I would recommend you get at the absolute minimum 240GB, or 480GB if you can afford it..
Why does GTA V Online load so slow
t0st reports digging into a CPU bottleneck on the loading process with a disassembler to figure out what was going on. They believe the bulk of the load time was going on parsing a JSON data file, processing and checking over 63,000 item and upgrade entries.
Why is GTA taking forever to load
You’re simply having trouble connecting to some other player in that session and that’s why it sometimes takes 10 years to load you in. It has nothing to do with your computer and everything to do with the peer to peer system that GTAO runs off of.
Does GTA V load faster on SSD
The fastest you can go is with an NVMe SSD and as you can see the difference to a SATA SSD is very low. Optane isn’t really worth it for an SSD, this is more for speeding up HDDs.
Is it worth installing GTA V on SSD
YES! Microstuttering disappears and the game loads a LOT faster. Also lets you turn on “high detail streaming while flying” in Advanced Graphics settings and not have any pop in when flying. I moved my install to a SSD recently and it made a way way smaller difference then I expected.
How much space does GTA 5 take on a SSD
If you’re low on SSD space, the size of the install could be an issue—at launch, GTA 5 required 65GB but now requires 72GB.
Why does GTA V install so slow
Despite you having good wifi, GTA consists of a massive file, that is somewhat unoptimized. It’s ten’s of gigabytes wide. This will slow down your internet making it take an hour or more to uninstall. Another thing to mention is that the PS4 uses a 5200 rpm hard drive , unlike PCS which use SSDS.
Can I play GTA V on HDD
& for 500gb HDD, GTA5 needs almost 60gb. SO, yes, you can play it.

Does SSD increase FPS
An SSD won’t help your FPS, but it can prevent hitching and stuttering in larger open world games. The main benefit of an SSD is faster access to data stored on the drive. Storing a game on an SSD will speed up the time it takes to open a game, save/load games and load maps/levels.
How long does GTA V Online take to load
I usually load up into story mode which takes like a minute then into online which takes 1-2 minutes :D. 2 mins plus if I go to online, usually anywhere form 1 min to 1 and a half to boot into story mode. Xbox One btw, PC could be pretty fast with an ssd. Make sure NAT settings are open through network settings.
Does FiveM run better on an SSD
As FiveM is loading assets from GTA V it will be best to have both on your SSD. If you just have FiveM on your SSD the speed will only be increased for loading things like resources which only perform basic tasks like chatMessages which are FiveM based and so wouldnt be faster as they dont load from gta v.
Why does GTA take so long to load with SSD
The drive is read for assets, which are loaded into RAM and the process is entirely dependent on, and the speed is dictated by, the CPU. If any of those three aren’t available for the game to use (or rather there is competition for those resources from other processes), then it will take longer.
How long does GTA take to load on SSD
When the storage starts getting above 85% it starts to get slower and slower, once it hits over 90 then it takes a really long time, and at about 98% just forget it. If you are talking about GTA Online, even with SSD, it takes 5 minutes for me.
